A grand day out

Hello Heidi

I have attached a picture of the two best Brownies I caught yesterday.

The larger one, which you saw and photographed, weighed 3 lbs 8 oz and the other 2 lbs 7 oz so the larger one was heavier than I thought.

All bar one were caught on the Klinkhammer you supplied the other fish was attracted to a Mayfly nymph. Whilst very wet after lunch my luck was in, in fact I had my first hat trick, three casts and three fish, two browns and one small 1 lb rainbow.

In total, I caught 6 browns and one rainbow all in perfect condition and really strong fighters.

I think there is a holding point half way up beat 6 where there is a barrier of upright posts on the far bank.

Not withstanding the fishing I really enjoyed the wild life, water voles, herons, lots of wild fowl, a roe deer and at 8.30am a Kingfisher.

Good Evening Heidi,

Just wanted to say that I had a great day at Timsbury on monday. The beat was very nice and well kept and I managed to hook and lose a few but eventually landed a brownie of 1 lb 12 oz.

A great start to the 2010 season has been had by all.

The Mayfly hatches have been huge this year and we are currently seeing lots of daily rises.

Good sized browns have been going for the Mayfly and Rusty brown klinkhammers. Get in touch to join us for some great sport!
